Student Council
Through our Student Council we hope to give our pupils a more active role in the
organisation of our school and ensure they are listened to and respected for their
ideas and concerns. Our Student Council aims to involve the students in many of the
decisions impacting the school community, thereby giving children the opportunity to
be active agents in their own learning and promote a culture of co-operation and
respect. Discussions in classes and at Council meetings will help to develop social
and learning skills in many areas including speaking and listening, problem solving,
brainstorming and the decision-making skills. Being an elected representative
provides children with the opportunity to develop leadership and communication
skills alongside the opportunity to learn skills of co-operation and working with others
in a democratic way.
